10 times Grand Slam winner Rene Lacoste was known for his ingenuity, strength and performance. After overhearing a bet over an alligator skin suitcase the press nicknamed him the “Alligator”. Inspired by his nickname Lacoste asked for a crocodile to be designed, which was then embroidered onto his blazer. Always thinking to the future he was a keen innovator, even inventing the tennis ball machine. Rene moved onto wearing short sleeved shirts which allowed greater movement. This led to the natural progression of launching his own polo shirt campaign in 1933, emblazoned with the now infamous crocodile.
Now past it’s 80th year, Lacoste continue to provide forward thinking clothing perfect for the tennis court, the golf course, and the mean streets of your town.
